A Play with Bubbles

Last night, as I was laying in bed to go to sleep, I couldn't help but wonder at lines and color use in a watercolor painting. What if the subject was something like bubbles, where there is an explosion of color?
So, I got back up and worked, to my pleasure, for a few hours on this piece. It was nice to achieve the effect of the bubbles with pastel watercolors, and then go into the background with more earth tones.
I also experimented with making the background also an explosion of color, but a different kind, so the colorful ballons still pop out at you --- no pun intended!
This painting was achieved by watercolor and pastels.
